Handmade Arcade is excited to welcome 40 NEW vendors on Saturday, December 5th.Always on the look out for indie-crafters on the cutting edge of craft, Handmade Arcade is thrilled to add these new businesses to our list of vendors.
Help us welcome this week’s highlighted vendors Silk Denim, Mod Evil Studio,SorceryScience and Hip Modern Soap.

Silk Denim designs garments from bags, quilts and home accessories repurposed from vintage clothing. They will be participating in Handmade Arcade as one of the first time vendors.
“All our products are utilitarian but with an artistic and recycled bent,” Sarah Silk, from Silk Denim explains.
Mother and Daughter, Louise and Sarah Silk, make all their items as a team; their typical routine include steps such as searching, ripping, cutting, piecing, and troubleshooting. The garments and material they receive is really what moves their creativity, and the two love to give old items a new purpose! And throughout it all, they grew to love working with denim.
“It’s practical, sturdy, casual, and it shows wear in really interesting ways.”
Expect them to have a lot of options for you. From their clothing lines, to bags and even gift collections, Sarah jokes they will be bringing pretty much everything but their kitchen sink!
This is their first retail event and Sarah expressed how excited they are to meet and find people who will “dig it.”
“We’re really proud to be participating. We’re doing it because we love Handmade Arcade. It’s an important part of the maker movement.”
Mod Evil Studio creates jewelry that also serves as armor. Anya Weitzman work is all hand fabricated and assembles all the jewelry from scratch from different metals including bronze, sterling silver, gold, and steel.
“The goal of every piece is personal empowerment; I harness the cultural power of ancient totems for the contemporary wearer,” Weitzman says about her jewelry.
Weitzman’s collections have historical and anthropological influences as this is what her background is in.
“My most recent collection, a collaboration with local artist Adrienne Rozzi of Poison Apple Printshop, is called “The Armory,” as it is a collection of pre-industrial weaponry re-imagined as jewelry.”
Mod Evil Studios will make its debut at Handmade Arcade this year. Weitzman told she has attended previous years and loved meeting talented craftspeople.
“I’m excited to be on the other side of the table this year, and I hope that I can do my part in keeping up the Handmade Arcade standards of creativity and originality.”
SorceryScience makes molecular structure jewelry and other science laser cut designs.
“Our molecular structure jewelry is a design of the molecular structure of different molecules like esters and aromatics that make the scents and flavors of different things like Lilac and Jasmine and Cinnamon,” said Carrie Parker, the creator of SorceryScience.
They also offer the structures of neurotransmitters such as estrogen, serotonin and caffeine. Most of Parker’s products are made using wood that has been laser cut into the different shapes. This process helped to create the name SorceryScience.
“It kind of looks like magic watching the laser cutter work, but it’s actually science so we named it SorceryScience.”
Parker names her products after the chemical structures on which they are based, and all of what she brings is heavily influenced by science and chemistry.
“People that have doctorates in chemistry or people that use these molecules or are actually doing research on these molecules, it’s just so amazing to watch their reaction and see how they enjoy what we do.”
SorceryScience plans to bring caffeine structure mugs as well as apparel with molecular designs in addition to much of their structure jewelry collection.
Hip Modern Soap crafts handmade soaps along with other bath and body products.
“We wanted the color and scent to grab you and make you want to jump in the shower,” Carrie Robertson, one of the creators of Hip Modern Soap.
Hip Modern Soap has a personal story behind their name. Robertson’s partner John found a sign that for their home that said “hip modern home”.
“Our friends have always referred to our house as ‘hip modern home’ and anything that transpired at our home as a ‘hip modern ______’…. It seemed a no-brainier when friends started referring to our new soap making hobby as hip modern soap.”
Expect them to come bearing all kinds of options, including festive holiday soaps for the upcoming season. They will also have sugar scrubs and bath bombs to make your next shower or bath extra fun.
Robertson wants to invite every soap lover to stop by their booth.
“If you have a soap question, we would love to answer it. If nothing else, you’ll get the opportunity of John inviting you to ‘Smell Everything.’”
